This week, we said goodbye to four ‘leavers’: those residents of 2020-21 who are moving on this summer, together with those from 2019-20 we couldn’t say goodbye to properly last summer because of restrictions on gatherings. After a picnic, we shared news, told the story of Lyn’s House as a human timeline, and prayed together in the beautiful surroundings of the garden. These are the words of the blessing we sang for those leaving (with thanks to the Northumbria Community, to whom it belongs):
May the peace of the Lord Christ go with you,
wherever He may send you.
May He guide you through the wilderness,
protect you through the storm.
May He bring you home rejoicing
at the wonders He has shown you.
May He bring you home rejoicing
once again into our doors.
